Sausage and Veggies White Pizza
It’s good to be back and cooking again! As you may know, the last several days we have been busy with packing, cleaning, and moving into our new apartment. I love the new place so much, but my body literally feels like I did a three hour weight training session at the gym from all the hard work involved. As a remedy, nothing is better than having a healthy and hearty pizza to help recover from all of that moving! The best part about this pizza is that you can indulge and not feel guilty in the slightest.
Sausage and Veggies White Pizza
- Whole Wheat Pizza Dough *Omit the honey, click on the link to see step by step directions!*
- 2 tbsp pesto sauce Note: You can either make your own or use store bought pesto sauce.
- 1/2 cup red onion finely chopped
- 1 cup frozen broccoli florets, thawed
- 2 plum tomatoes, sliced
- 2 chicken sausage with sun dried tomato links, precooked and sliced
- 1 tsp freshly chopped basil
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Pepper, to taste
On a lightly floured baking sheet, use your hands to stretch the pizza dough into a thin rectangular shape, about 9 -10 inches
Poke holes all over the dough, this prevents the dough from rising in the center.
If you’re a fan of having a crispier pizza crust, I suggest pre-baking the dough for 8 minutes at 350 degrees before adding any toppings.
Spread the dough with pesto sauce
then sprinkle with some cheese and arrange the sliced chicken sausage, sliced plum tomatoes, and red onion on top.
Then place the broccoli all over the pizza.
Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and season according to your tastes. Sprinkling the pizza with some ground pepper, onion powder, and some fresh chopped basil made this pizza taste so divine!

Bake until the edges are crisp, lightly browned, and the cheese is melted, about 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven, let pizza stand about 2 to 3 minutes before eating.

What a great combination of flavors for a pizza!
Yum. I love a great pesto sauce. I also like that this pizza is not weighed down by cheese or sauce and has a ton of veggies. Great Post!
