Sizzling Beef and Scallions
We order take out at least once or twice a week here. Sometimes we’ll pull out a menu from one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. A lot of these takeout places tend to claim that their dishes are “MSG free”. It’s hard to find an authentic Chinese restaurant that offer dishes that are actually MSG free and not loaded with grease. Why have to worry about that when you can just whip up your very own version of take out right in your very own kitchen! Sizzling Beef and Scallions is the perfect and healthier alternative to take out. The best part about this dish is that you can control how much sodium and fat is used while keeping it flavorful. It is full of healthy veggies and good carbs from the brown rice, leaving you satisfied and nourished at the same time.
Sizzling Beef and Scallions

HI Jessie:)
beef and broccoli’s one of my fave chinese dishes, I love that it’s already mixed with rice, which means less dishes to wash
thanks for sharing!
This looks so good and reminds me of Mongolian Beef dishes too.

This looks and sounds really good! I agree, I think its best to make your own dishes right at home! Eating out once and a while isn’t bad though.
I love making “take-out” at home! Especially Chinese – it’s actually not that hard to whip up, doesn’t take much time once the prep work is done. This looks tasty!
Just know that a similar dish that I enjoy often has this name…now I like it more and more, easy and so yummy
Cheers!

i’m always coming up with restaurant duplicates too- everything is almost right when you eat out, but you just want to improve it a touch by adding more veggies, say, or in this case no MSG. love the idea and execution! thanks
very nicely done delicious!
It’s fun to make take out food at home, sometimes I get a bit carried away and even use a kimono. Your beef looks yummy.
Oh I so enjoy stir fry meals and yours looks great. I agree with you 100% on whipping up your own dishes!
I’ve got to try to sneak the brown rice in for the white next time I make some fried rice! That is, when my husband isn’t looking… This looks great!
This looks so much better than any takeout I can get! I love recreating my Chinese favorites. This looks absolutely delicious Jessie! And so much healthier.
This is GREAT! I love healthier Chinese food! My husband would love this.
You take me back to my old NYC days. We ordered takeout 2-3 nights/week too!
A delicious sizzling beef, I would love that for my lunch right now!
I love the sound of this dish. Make me hungry just to hear it. It’s hard to find Chinese restaurant that’s MSG free for sure. Many chinese ingredients already came with MSG in it. So, even the restaurants don’t add extra MSG, it may end up in the dish anyway. I personally am ok with it because I grew up eating them. I know it’s not good for you and all:)
This looks fantastic. I like it that you used brown rice.
Great dish! And you are right so much healthier than takeout. Thanks for sharing! You have inspired me to make my own takeout soon!
This is definitely better than take out.
I do a stir fry like this semi frequently. It’s so good and yours looks fabulous!
I adore quick, delicious stir-fries like this. What a healthy meal for a busy weeknight.
What a great weeknight meal! Thanks for sharing
