- 1 pound fresh salmon (cut into 4 equal pieces)
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons chicken broth or water
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated)
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
- Remove salmon from the fridge and let it sit for 15–20 minutes at room temperature. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, ginger, chicken broth, and cornstarch.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter; once hot, sear the salmon skin-side down for about 5 minutes.
- Flip the salmon carefully and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until nearly done.
- Add remaining butter to the skillet and pour the sauce around the salmon. Let it bubble for about 30 seconds before removing from heat.
- Spoon the glaze over the salmon and serve immediately.
