Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (for brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, salt, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare the filling by mixing minced garlic with shredded cheese.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 pieces. Flatten each piece and place filling in the center; seal and shape into balls.
  7. Place rolls seam-side down in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush rolls with melted butter before baking for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven, brush again with melted butter, sprinkle parsley on top, and serve warm.
