  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion for 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in crushed tomatoes and heavy cream; stir to combine. Add dried basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes if desired. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, nestle into the sauce, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, cover, and simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
