Ingredients
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- Vegetable oil, salt, and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Pat chicken thighs dry, season with salt and pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; sear chicken skin-side down for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip and sear for another 3-4 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger; simmer until sugar dissolves.
- Mix cornstarch with water; add to the sauce to thicken.
- Pour half the sauce over the chicken; transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
