  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil (for sauce)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 23 tablespoons red chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. In one bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and cold water.
  2. Coat each chicken piece in the egg mixture followed by the flour mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken pieces in batches for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. In another pan, heat oil and sauté minced garlic. Stir in red chili sauce, soy sauce, and sugar; cook until slightly thickened.
  5. Toss fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated and serve garnished with green onions.
