  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Pecorino Romano cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the ziti in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground Italian sausage in olive oil. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add minced garlic and marinara sauce to the skillet; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Combine cooked pasta with the sausage mixture until evenly coated.
  6. Layer half of the pasta mixture in the baking dish, sprinkle with half of the cheeses, add remaining pasta, and top with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
