Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef steak (sirloin or flank), thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 package (17.3 ounces) frozen puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Season the sliced beef with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the mushrooms, bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Cook for 5-7 minutes until softened. Stir in the cooked beef along with Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes before removing from heat to let it cool slightly.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out each puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut into rectangles (about 4×6 inches). Place a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center of each rectangle, then top with shredded provolone cheese.
  4. Fold the puff pastry over to enclose the filling completely. Press the edges together to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for an attractive finish. Brush the tops with beaten egg for that golden look.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your assembled hot pockets on it. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  6. Allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious Puff Pastry Cheesesteak Hot Pockets!
