  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet mixture and refrigerate dough for at least 2 hours.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll chilled dough into balls on parchment-lined baking sheets; flatten slightly before baking for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Cool cookies on wire rack.
  6. For frosting, beat softened butter and gradually add powdered sugar; mix in heavy cream and vanilla bean seeds until fluffy.
  7. Prepare salted caramel by melting sugar until golden brown; stir in butter and heavy cream, then add sea salt.
