  • 14 ounces firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and toss with cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the tofu until golden and crispy (8-10 minutes). Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic and grated ginger for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add honey (or maple syrup), soy sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, and sesame oil; stir to combine and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return the tofu to the skillet and toss in the sauce for an additional minute.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
