Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (warmed)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • For the filling: 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • For the frosting: 1 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For decoration: Black chocolate sprinkles or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In another bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl and let rise covered for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, and sprinkle with the filling mixture.
  5. Roll tightly from one long edge to form a log and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place them cut side up in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While baking, make the frosting by beating cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Once cooled slightly, frost the rolls generously and decorate with chocolate sprinkles or mini chips.
