  • 1 pound strawberries, sliced
  • 34 rhubarb stalks, sliced
  • 1 gallon water (divided)
  • 12 cups sugar (to taste)
  • Ginger bug (for fermentation)

Instructions

  1. Boil the sliced strawberries and rhubarb in half a gallon of water for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  2. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before transferring it to a wide mouth gallon jar.
  3. Add 1-2 cups of sugar based on your sweetness preference and stir until dissolved.
  4. Fill the jar with cold, unchlorinated water and let it cool to room temperature before adding the ginger bug.
  5. Cover the jar with a clean cloth secured by a rubber band and place it in a dark area away from direct sunlight.
