Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sake (or white wine)
  • 1 tablespoon mirin (or honey)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • Vegetable oil for grilling

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sake, mirin, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, black pepper, and salt. Add chicken pieces; toss to coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
  2. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  3. Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess to drip off. If using skewers, thread the chicken pieces onto them.
  4. Grill chicken skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through and marked with grill lines.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving warm.
